A Christmas treat...

Updated: Dec 1, 2022

Christmas is my favourite thing in the world. I love it. I once told a manager in a publishing job I had, completely non-ironically, that I thought that if Santa was ever retiring and was looking for a replacement, I would be a great fit. I still believe that, by the way.

Anyway, to celebrate Christmas coming around again imminently, and to bring together Christmas with one of my other favourite things - audiobooks - I have decided to record A Christmas Carol as an audiobook!

It was so much fun recording my favourite book. I've written it as a play (published by Oxford University Press), but reading Dickens' words and bringing them to life was an entirely different challenge. I haven't done a huge amount of acting in the last decade, so this definitely involved a bit of flexing some muscles that haven't had a run out in a long time...

I am really pleased with the end result, actually. It's not the most professional thing in the world (it was recorded at my desk, beside the bowls where my cat noisily eats his dinner), but it was made with a lot of passion and pride, and I think you'll enjoy it.

The book is available for free (Merry Christmas!) on Audible, Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, YouTube and can be downloaded here.

And if you'd like to share this with a few folk who might enjoy a short and cheery festive story, that would be marvellous.

Enjoy, and do let me know what you think!
