Extract of new writing to be performed

I'm very aware that I posted no news in 2024...

This isn't because there was nothing going on, rather because there was so much going on! It was a really busy year of writing projects for my Masters degree, performing weddings all around the UK and Ireland, training my hyper-excitable puppy, and taking part in the fantastic Stage Write Playwright Development Programme at Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre!

I loved participating in the course, and after an informative, inspiring and challenging year of learning about playwriting and writing (and rewriting...and rewriting...and rewriting...) my play, I'm delighted that on February 18th, 2025, an extract from my play will be read by a talented group of actors at the theatre.

My play, A(nother) Night in November, takes place at a pub in rural County Derry, on the night of Ireland's hugely controversial World Cup play-off match against France in Paris. When regular punter, Sean 'Smiler' Taggart, arrives at the pub having tried and failed to end his life, his friends desperately attempt to give him a reason to live by telling him that Ireland did, in fact, qualify for the World Cup in South Africa. How can the lads keep up this totally unsustainable lie, and what other secrets may come out over the course of the evening?

The extract from my play will be performed alongside five other fantastic pieces by other writers from the course, and tickets are on sale now! It will be a really exciting evening of new writing, so it would be fantastic to get a good crowd in to support us.
