Longlisted for the 2026 Short Com TV Sitcom Writing Competition (and something even more fun)

Hello!
It's been a little while since I've posted anything on my website, as things have been rather busy (more on this below)...
One thing I neglected to post about was that I was delighted to find out in mid-September that the script for the pilot episode of my sitcom, All Hell, was longlisted for the Short Com TV Sitcom Writing Competition!
I was absolutely thrilled with this achievement - it's a well-respected competition, and I feel very lucky to appear on the longlist alongside some other really fantastic and funny writers.

I was particularly pleased that All Hell received this recognition, as it was a script that I first developed during my time on the wonderful MA Comedy Writing course at Falmouth University, and hadn't revisited for a couple of years, so the process of rewriting and reworking it with a fresh eye was a lot of fun!
It also made me feel very proud, as this was my second competition longlist placement this year, after the pilot script for my sitcom Hopeless was longlisted for the prestigious David Nobbs prize in May.
Samples of each of these scripts can be found here!
I mentioned it's been a bit of a busy year, and I'm aware that I haven't had much to update since the first series of my podcast finished earlier in the summer. Well, it certainly hasn't been quiet for me - I've just had some other, more demanding priorities than website admin...
My beautiful daughter was born in mid-August, and the last two months have been the most glorious whirlwind of cuddles, poops (mine and hers), smiles (mostly mine) and naps (again, both). She is the greatest joy I've ever experienced, and I truly feel like the luckiest man in the world.

I'm still attempting to find the right balance between work and parenting, but while I'm not finding as much time as usual to write at the moment, I feel very happy that I'm able to take some of the scripts from my portfolio and put them out there. It's even lovelier when you get a little acknowledgement from a competition that you're not totally delusional, and that some people other than you think your work is good!
Hopefully more fun updates soon, but in the meantime, please reach out if you need anyone to write or edit anything! As I type this, my daughter has just done something in her nappy that I'm 99.9% sure was predicted by Nostradamus, so I'm off to deal with that...
